BEHIND THE CANDLES

For most of my life I have been burdened with an affliction I lovingly refer to as Nicholas Sparks syndrome. Every day I slip into some outrageously, romantic day-dream, one that is far more sustaining than reality half the time. I never imagined this pastime would eventually lead to one of the most exciting ventures of my life thus far. 

Despite the name, this "company" is made up of just me. An aspiring screenwriter. A struggling artist. And as previously mentioned, a hopeless romantic. When the pandemic hit and we retreated indoors, I found myself comforted by two things: a lovely handmade candle given to me by my close friend Paula Aceves, and a renewed passion for story-telling. From there, Peak Sun was born. I had no idea how to start my own business, and to some extent I am still making it up as I go. My journey has consisted of begging my roommates for validation, figuring out what a Cricut machine actually does, and trying something new each morning after a failed prototype robbed me of any hope the night before. 

Each item is handmade by me, imperfections included which I hope can only endear you to the product even more. Some of the stories are written by me, and some by respected collaborators.

I have so many plans — a backlog of enchanting characters, charming stories, and exciting guest writers. With so much to look forward to, so many collections in the works, I hope that Peak Sun can be a dazzling escape that you'll revisit for years to come.
